Goalkeeper’s glove is a very recent innovation which changes the way goalkeeper defend the goal post. In the early era of football, cotton was the main material used to make a pair of goalkeeper gloves, but was since stopped as because when the gloves made a contact with water, the glove will absorb the water and make it very slippery and uncomfortable and reduced greatly the ability to catch a soccer ball.

Manufactures started to do research and has improved the material which will be used to make a goalkeeper gloves. In this modern era, the goalkeeper gloves are now all made from light synthetic materials which will provide superior comfort and greater protection then the early year of goalkeeper glove. Not to mention the protection provided has also been greatly increased.
