FingerSave

Another fantastic feature which are included in goalkeeper gloves (or also known as goalie glove) is the “fingersave” system. Fingersave system support structure is also known in other names depending on the manufacturer, but fingersave gloves are basically a set of plastic which are inserted into each finger compartment of the glove. These plastic inserts will provide many enhancement to the goalkeeper glove. Stabilization of the hand is one of the main benefit using fingersave support system, which will by preventing hyperextension on the fingers when trying to save a shot.

Fingersave system support also provide some protection with additional “shell” on top of the fingers which could prevent serious problem like broken finger bones or other injuries to the finger from occurring. But these fingersave glove could also create some problem such as finger stiffness as it’s quite fit around the finger and this allow only very little room for the finger to flex. On the bright side, these fingersaves are flexible in a way. Depending on the goalkeeper, it can be slide out easily and replace with a new one in a flash – or can be totally without one. However, fingersave glove are not for every goalkeeper. Some goalkeeper will use them, but some don’t. That’s because the feeling of the plastic inserts will basically restrict the finger movement and will jeopardize the hand-to-ball contact feeling. But again, this fingersave glove are a matter of the goalkeeper’s personal preference.
