The goalkeeper’s spot is one of the hardest roles in the field. The mistakes they make are absolute. The praise is normally set aside for the players at the other part of the field. It is not always a spot for just anybody. You cannot really play goal and be unwise at it for you will surely become foolish. Coaches also serve as part-time psychologists. They must help build up the confidence of their goalkeepers. This article has provided some tips that a coach can give to their goalkeeper.

But in game circumstances, goalkeeping should not be included. It will do no better if the coach places an individual who does not even like to play goal. It can be devastating for a youth to be scored ahead. A coach has to let the players try out for every position in practices then give those who want to play goal a chance in the net.
• Remain optimistic every time goals are won Even though it can be hard to be optimistic at times, particularly when a lapse has allowed in the game-losing goal with a few seconds to play. At this time, goalkeepers have to limit their mistakes immediately and recover by putting a positive outlook on the following things:
  • Recognize the shooter. Once the opponent team fought a good game, then you have to give them some recognition. There are times that it is not the error of the goalkeeper that allows the goal in the net.
  • Do not take it seriously. You have to give the keeper aid in shaking it off his or her mind immediately. You have to give him or her a quick coaching advice if it is needed and help him or her to get going when the kickoff has been taken.  This way, there are more problems that are covered more deeply in the preceding practices.
  • Search for strategies that have to improve. Concentrate on the skill that has to develop and not on the fact that the goal got into the net. Usually, the footwork and catching just needs to be improved.

• Provide praise for other actions instead of the direct saves alone. Goalkeepers have the ability to prevent the ball from going into the net in a lot of ways rather than creating a direct save. A missed shot can also make the job. Once the shooter makes a decision too soon which is triggered by assertiveness, the goalkeeper can make a missed shot or a passed on shot or also called an open shot. Goalkeepers must know that going forward in advance contain a big lead.

• Do not be frightened after a save. This advice relates to both the coach and the keeper. The keeper has to be given enough time to internalize the save and build up his or her self-confidence, quiet down, provide players in the field the moment to get back on track, and watch the field to begin the attack again. Within six seconds, they can achieve this. Stillness can show confidence in his or her own ability to manage the ball and the game as well.
• Aid the goalkeeper in developing excellent practices. Educate the keeper to learn strategies and repeat it to them. Do not let them get idle even though they are not practicing in drills or playing. Similarly to bad habits, good habits can portray in games. Repeating these strategies is the solution to be able to make not only a good but an excellent goalkeeper.
• Make a full effort in every shot. Even though a shot seems to appear useless, it still requires the effort to be saved. Shots that may not be possible to save can be less in no time. Once there is an attempt, these shots will come.
• When things are not okay, remove the goalkeeper with care. A lot of coaches remove a goalkeeper once they see that they are losing the game. However, coaches have to realize the consequences this may bring. Goalkeepers can view this as an indication of the coaches not believing in them. This can pull them down so it has to be said in a positive way. For example, tell them that you are removing them from the game not because you think they are a bad player but because it is not just their day.

Persuade extra training. There is no time to train a goalkeeper in continuous sessions for practice because there must be a time to practice foot and field abilities too. As a solution to this, attending clubs and private sessions, going to goalkeeper camps, reading books and watching videos, and visiting online websites can aid a lot. Someone who is really intense in learning goalkeeping has to undergo additional trainings and practices he or she needs.
